Being a parent or carer is a wonderful experience. It’s one of the most important jobs in the world that comes with no training. Children are very robust but sometimes unexpected and emergency situations can arise.That’s why Childhealthy partners with Ronan Ging, a Senior Resuscitation Officer, to offer comprehensive first aid training classes to parents and families.
What does the online training cover?
Ronan has tremendous experience and the two-hour online classes will teach you how to perform basic life support and resuscitation, what actions to take if a child is choking, and how to deal with the most common accidents.Ronan instructs with a straightforward and practical approach to dealing with emergency situations.The two-hour class will equip you with the knowledge of how to deal with basic emergencies and is suitable for all parents, grandparents and carers.

Introducing solid food into your baby’s diet can be a daunting task. When do I start giving solids to my baby? How do I start? What foods should I start with? What about lumps and textures, allergies and risk of choking?
Childhealthy has partnered with Bianca Parau, expert paediatric dietitian, to offer a comprehensive class for all parents to help answer all these questions for you.
What does the online class cover?
The first 1000 days of life is a critical period in your little one's development and nutrition plays such a vital part, including laying the foundation for food preferences in later life.
This masterclass will equip you to wean with greater understanding and insight as Bianca will guide you through all the steps in introducing solids to your baby (also known as weaning), ultimately empowering you to make your weaning journey as relaxed and fun as possible.
Topics covered in this masterclass include the basics around weaning; readiness to start, weaning style and helping babies learn about food. Food hygiene and safety (prepping and storing of food), how, what and how much to introduce, milk volumes, introducing allergens and different textures, foods to avoid, gagging and choking and so much more. There is an opportunity for group discussion and sharing experiences with other parents in an informal and relaxed session, but with valuable information and key take home messages.

This class is ideal for first time parents with young infants about to start or who have just started solid food, but relevant to all parents, however experienced, who may need some up to date advice.
