Paediatric Allergists

What is a paediatric allergist?

Paediatric allergists specialise in prevention, diagnosis and management of food allergy, atopic eczema, allergic asthma, allergic rhinitis (hay-fever), immunotherapy to environmental allergens (e.g. house dust mite, pollens, pet dander), cow’s milk and egg immunotherapy, allergic conjunctivitis, vernal keratoconjunctivitis, sinusitis, eosinophilic gastrointestinal disease, insect sting and latex allergy.

Up to 52% of children suffer from at least one allergic condition, and often children with one allergic condition can develop more allergies. Our general paediatric team can reassure you, investigate and treat many of these concerns, but commonly involve and refer to paediatric allergy specialists.
