Dr Bolu Akinbiyi

Bolu is a Consultant Paediatrician with a special interest in epilepsy and neurodisability.

She is passionate about providing high-quality care for children and young people and understands the importance of creating a welcoming and supportive environment for both patients and their families. She prioritises patient-centred care, working collaboratively with children, young people, and their families to develop personalised treatment plans.

Bolu completed her medical training in Austria, where she qualified as a General Medical Practitioner (2007).  Following her move to the UK, she undertook specialist paediatric training at Oxford

University Hospitals and various North London hospitals.

Bolu worked as a Consultant Paediatrician at Evelina London Children’s Hospital

where she played a pivotal role in setting up and working within the paediatric Post COVID

service, alongside her work in general paediatrics and managing children with epilepsy in

secondary care. She currently works as a Consultant Paediatrician at Northampton General Hospital with a focus on general paediatrics, paediatric epilepsy and neurodisability.

As a mother of two young children, she understands the challenges and anxieties that parents

face. She is committed to clear communication and ensuring patients and families understand their

condition and treatment options.
