Yes. Childhealthy offer remote paediatric telephone or video appointments. Many conditions and illnesses require clinic assessment and you will be advised if this is the case. Remote appointments can either be self funded and are paid ahead of the appointment or covered by health insurance. Pre authorisation from your insurance is required ahead of the appointment.
Childhealthy has clinic availability daily at conveniently located hospitals in London. Clinic, remote appointments and home visits are all available including weekends.
We can always find a time to suit you, so please do ask if you are having difficulty finding a suitable time.
Childhealthy is a private paediatric practice run by Dr Yiannis Ioannou, Consultant Paediatrician and associate paediatricians. Childhealthy frequently refers to the paediatric specialists and therapists listed who work independently from the practice.

Yes, Childhealthy are frequently the first port of call for our patients for all health concerns and you can book an appointment without seeing your GP. However, many insurance companies require a GP referral in order to authorise a visit so please do check your policy details.
The office will ask for demographic information including name, date of birth, address, contact number and email and insurance details including membership number and pre-authorisation number. You will receive email confirmation ahead of the appointment.
Any information that you think may be helpful for us relating to your child’s health. Please bring your baby’s red book, GP referral letter if you have one, any relevant previous clinical correspondence, test results or health records. If you forget these don’t worry, it will not affect the appointment.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your allocated appointment time. Although you have already registered your child’s details, the hospital administrative staff will once again confirm details and will ask for credit card details to cover any additional charges from the hospital if you are self-paying for the visit. We will discuss with you and your child the reason for your visit, examine your child and make any recommendations and plans for follow-up visits. Blood tests and x-rays if needed can usually be done on the day of the visit. Some scans may require a separate appointment, but we will advise you and support you with any questions.
Yes, if you have any questions please call or email the office and we can contact you at a convenient time. A follow up appointment can be arranged if necessary.
Yes. Home visits are pre-arranged and by appointment. Please contact the office during working hours to arrange a home visit.
The fee for a consultant paediatrician home visit is £680 and is paid at time of booking the visit and before the clinician attends the home.
Fees vary by the specialist or therapist seen. Our general paediatric appointment fee is £330, reduced to £290 for self funding families who do not have health insurance.
Vaccinations, diagnostic tests and medicines are not included in the appointment fee.
It is important that you understand the cover provided by your health insurance, where shortfalls may arise, to gain pre-authorisation for all appointments and tests. If any appointment, diagnostic test, vaccination is not pre- authorised, this is considered self funded.

All self funded appointments are to be paid before the appointment online by credit card or bank transfer and the appointment confirmed once payment has been received.

Childhealthy specialists are registered with most health insurance companies. Pre-authorisation is required for the individual specialist or therapist seen. The extent of cover depends on your insurance policy and some insurance companies may not cover the full cost of the consultation. Your policy may include an excess which is an amount you will need to pay directly to Childhealthy.

If your insurance company is not on this list please contact us to discuss payment options and we will be able to help.
In some cases, blood tests, scans or x rays may be requested by a Childhealthy specialist to investigate your child’s symptoms. If your visit is covered by health insurance, pre-authorisation from your insurance company is needed for any investigations and you will be liable for any limits exceeded on your insurance policy. Vaccines and medicines are also charged separately and many insurance companies do not cover the costs of vaccines, so please do check your policy coverage.
