Missed Vaccines: What to Do When Your Child's Immunisation Schedule Gets Delayed

Tip 1: Keep a Record

Maintain a dedicated health diary or use an app to track your child's immunisation dates. This way, you'll have a handy reminder for each vaccine due. To note, different countries have different methods of recording these vaccines e.g. in England this is the baby red book.

Tip 2: Make Immediate Contact

If a scheduled vaccine is missed, don't delay. Reach out to your healthcare provider right away to reschedule.

Tip 3: Grouped Vaccinations

If your child has missed multiple vaccines, your healthcare provider may suggest certain vaccines to be given together at different times to catch up. This ensures your child gets protected as soon as possible.

Tip 4: Maintain Regular Check-ups

Regular health check-ups help to monitor your child's health and ensure their vaccine schedule is on track.

Remember, vaccination is a key part of ensuring your child's healthy growth and development, protecting them from serious illnesses. If a dose is missed, it's crucial to act quickly and get back on track.

Always here to guide you through your child health queries, until next time, keep those health records updated and stay on top of your appointments!

Where To Get Children’s Vaccines

All children are eligible to receive vaccines for free through their GP. Some vaccines, such as the Chickenpox vaccine, influenza vaccine (under 2 years), BCG, hepatitis a, and travel vaccines are not available for all children via the UK immunisation schedule. Childhealthy offers all vaccinations to protect your child including all those on the UK immunisation schedule and international schedules. Take a look at the list of vaccinations that we offer.

Our booking process is very straightforward.  Please contact us via the contact page on our website or book online, and we can book your child in for vaccination at a time that suits you.
