What is a paediatric cardiologist?

A paediatric cardiologist is a doctor that cares for children with any heart condition.

Common conditions include:

  • congenital heart disease (present at birth),
  • arrhythmias (variations in heartbeat rhythm) and,
  • heart murmurs.

Our general paediatric team can assess, reassure you and treat your child for many of these concerns, but commonly refer for an opinion when needed.
